Apparently I don't do enough to make my children's childhood "magical" because I attempted to explain St. Patrick's day to Nathan yesterday and he FREAKED OUT! I made the mistake of telling him we were going to make a Leprechaun trap and he started bawling and clinging to me. Once I got him calmed down and explained they weren't real, I stuck my foot in my mouth again when I explained that you have to wear green so no one pinches you. That set him off again with a whole new fear of being pinched. He was terrified and kept asking how many times people were going to pinch him. I even had to go pick out his clothes yesterday afternoon so he could see that he would be wearing green today and wouldn't be pinched! If I had known he would react like that, I would have grabbed the camera! :)
Anyways, all turned out well, we didn't catch any leprechauns this year (although they did visit and turned our toilet water green and knocked over lots of stuff!) and he didn't even get pinched. Phew.

Got to love kids!! :)
That is so funny that he got so upset you have to admit for a kid it must seem a little strange that little men would run around your house and you could get pinched if you don't wear green. I really liked your trap cute idea!
I totally forgot it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday. None of us wore green, so before bedtime (just as I figured out what day it was) the kids and I had a pinching fight. Of course the kids had no idea WHY we were pinching each other... it was so fun, though.
PS- so jealous of your baby's hair!!
What a beautiful little girl Tammy...you lucky duck...and of course Nathan is a handsome young boy
